At present, there are four main types of solar street lamp batteries on the market, namely lead-acid batteries, gel batteries, ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries.
1. Lead-acid batteries: The plates of lead-acid batteries are made of lead and lead oxides, and the electrolyte is an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. The main advantage of lead-acid batteries is that the voltage is relatively stable, the price is relatively cheap, and the safety is high; the disadvantage is that the battery life is relatively short, and the volume is much larger than ordinary batteries, but because of its price advantage, solar energy in the early years The use in the street lamp industry still occupies a dominant position.
2. Gel battery: Gel battery is an optimized version of lead-acid battery. It has the advantages of maintenance-free and less maintenance. The main reason is that colloidal electrolyte is replaced by sulfuric acid electrolyte internally. It is in terms of power storage, discharge capacity, safety performance and lifespan. Improved; In addition, the gel battery can be used in the temperature range of -40℃-65℃, and the low temperature performance is better. In the northern alpine region or the tropical region with higher temperature, the gel battery is a good choice; at the same time, it is shock-resistant The performance is also very good, it can be used safely under various harsh conditions, and the service life is more than double that of ordinary lead-acid batteries.
3. Ternary lithium battery: Ternary lithium battery has high specific energy, small size, fast charging and high price. The number of deep cycles can reach 500-800 times, the life span is more than double that of lead-acid batteries, and the temperature range used is -15℃-45℃. However, ternary lithium batteries also have disadvantages, such as poor safety. If the internal stability of the battery is not stable or the production is not up to standard, the battery is most likely to explode during the overcharging process or in a high temperature environment.
4. Lithium iron phosphate battery: Lithium iron phosphate battery has higher specific energy, small size, fast charging, strong stability, and wide temperature range, but the price is relatively high among all batteries. But with the maturity of technology, the application of lithium iron phosphate batteries has become more and more extensive.
