The wiring of outdoor LED lamps first considers the use environment, and there are many factors to consider outdoors, such as waterproof and dustproof, high temperature resistance, aging resistance, etc. The cable connection is not well protected, and many safety accidents may occur in use, so protective measures will be taken under normal circumstances.
Most of our high-power LED floodlights are used in various outdoor environments, such as under trees in landscaping, in bushes and by the pool, so how do we protect the outdoors in these harsh environments of humidity, sun and rain What about the waterproofness of the wiring of LED floodlights? First of all, the standard protection level of our lamps is IP65-IP68, that is, the lamps have dustproof and rainproof functions, but they cannot reach the level of immersion in water, so we must install them. It should be noted that the exposed wiring is generally directly connected to the main line on site, and the lead wire of the lamp is about 30-50cm long. How to ensure waterproofness and leakage after connecting with the main line connector? Our engineering solutions are as follows:
1. Install a waterproof junction box in the wiring position of the daily line pipe and then install the wire head in the junction box, which can provide double protection.
2. The simple way is to first wrap the connector with insulating tape at the wiring joint, then wrap it with waterproof tape, and then wrap a layer of insulating tape. In general, it is completely reliable for outdoor waterproofing;
3. Professional waterproof wiring connectors are used, and the connectors are tightened at both ends of the connector. Generally, the protection level of waterproof connectors can reach IP67 or above.
LED strip lights generally have three voltages: AC220V, DC12V, and DC24V. Therefore, it is necessary to select a suitable switching power supply for power supply. The size of the power supply is determined according to the power and connection length of the LED strip. It should be noted that the DC12V and DC24V must not be connected to the AC220V, otherwise all the lamp beads will burn out. DC12V can not be connected to the control power supply of DC24V; otherwise, the power will be more than doubled, and it is easy to burn out the lamp beads. The AC220V light strip can be directly connected to the mains. The RGB colorful LED strip needs to use the controller to realize the changing effect. Generally, 4 wires are used to distinguish black, red, green and blue. The colorful light strips are generally of common anode, that is, one of the light strips is connected to the +12V black line, the others are negative, and the RGB is connected to the corresponding red, green and blue interface or power line.
